We stayed in a 45' motor home at the end of April but before the busy camping season started May 1st. The office staff was very friendly and welcoming. Although the spaces were close together you had adequate space to open four slides and sit outside if desired. The bathhouse was clean and neat. This was our first time to stay at this campground and found it was easy access to Grand Rapids and surrounding area. Would definitely stay again.

Campsites were right on top of playground with little ones yelling all day and evening. Very rough crowd, kids fighting, pushing, hitting other kids and little parental supervision.

- Nice playground

Anyway, overall all the other positive aspects of this park is what made it worth it. Here are a some things, just to name a few:

After driving 13 long hours to this beautiful area, I couldn't have asked for more accommodating owners! Very friendly and helpful! Sites are perfect size, and children's awesome playground is within sight. The bouncey bubble is so cool, my girls loved it! The pool is beautiful and clean with nice chairs for this momma to sit and get her tan on (don't worry! I use sunscreen). Bath house is decent and enough stalls and showers to not have to wait in a line. If we lived in this area, this campground would certainly become a regular for my family! So much to do here, especially for the kids! And minutes from popular tourist areas and lake! Thank you, Woodchip for making our far-away-from-home feel so homey! If we are ever in this area again, we shall make it a point to come back here!

- Great location

- Always keep their bathrooms clean

I was about to give this 4 stars, however the only downside which I decided was not a big deal at all was the size of the lot. We have a 39' fifth wheel and even though it fit in our lot it was a tight squeeze on the sides. We had to line the trailer up "just right" so the power box went between my slide outs, then also on the other side, I could not open our outdoor kitchen because there was a tree there :)

Lots of great activities for little ones (10 and under). Very clean and well maintained facilities. Fabulous church service led by owner. However, very gruff owner walks around patrolling things to the point of making it not fun. We have never had issues camping for the past 10 years, but owner watched over our teens like a hawk making them feel very unwelcome. (they are good kids and weren't causing any trouble).

Rules here seem excessive. They have a beautiful pool, but you can't take in snacks or even water, and rules state no playing marco polo. Fun, almost. They have a great jumping pillow, but you can only jump straight up and down, don't you dare move from place to place or you will be yelled at. You can have fun, almost. Owner went around and told people on nearby sites they were plugged into the wrong pedestal, but none are labeled and it is not clear which go to which sites. Yelled at toddlers in the pool because they didn't have wristbands on (their grandma explained they fell off and were on the chair). Could have been done kindly and not so rough. Bathrooms are very clean but stalls are incredibly small. We will not be coming back.

- Nice pool

First off, before I write a review I like to read some of the 1 and 2 star reviews to see why they review so badly, and same thing goes if I review something low, I like to read why people vote 4 and 5 stars... I was reading a 1 star review from just 1 week ago about their rude staff / owners.. We were there in the last 3 weeks or so and this was NOT our experience at all, in fact it was one of our better campgrounds we've stayed at, to a point where our kids asked if we could live there :) And we've been to many campgrounds!

- Nice staff

It is a very well kept park. Very family oriented.

- Great activities for the kids
